Buds

The oak trees outside my apartment have just started putting out shoots. They make for an interesting sight: they’re large trees completely bare of foliage, the only colour that they show are the light green buds scattered over them.

I guess the warmer months are coming around again.

Last week I handed in my thesis with all of the corrections done. It feels odd to have finally finished the whole ordeal. While the whole period leading up to my initial submission back in Feb was pretty tough, I haven’t had to work on it at all this last half a year. Finally handing in the corrected thesis has been the ending to a very long denouement — and while getting a distinction, and even the final hand in, left me pretty happy, this whole finishing off process has been quite anticlimactic.

But it’s good to be done.
